BYKOMSTIGE REËLS EN RIGLYNE / ADDITIONAL RULES AND GUIDELINES
1. Kunswerke mag nie kleiner as 300 X 500 mm wees nie (A3 papier grootte).
Artwork should not be smaller than 300 X 500 mm (A3 paper size).
2. Kunswerke moet behoorlik op swart karton gemonteer word, wat ‘n liniaal-breedte aan die kante groter as die kunswerk is.
Artwork should be mounted on black board, which should be a ruler width larger than the art work itself all around.
3. Geen kunswerke mag opgerol of gevou wees nie en pastel en houtskoolwerke moet gefikseer wees.
Artwork should not be rolled up or folded and pastel and charcoal works should be fixed.
4. Die deelnemer se naam, skoolgraad en skool moet duidelik voor op die kunswerk of foto aangebring word. Die onderstaande voorbeeld kan gebruik word:
The participant’s name, school grade and school must clearly be indicated on the front of the artwork or photo. The following template may be used:

5. Alle inskrywings MOET voor of op Vrydag 30 Mei 2025 ingedien word.
All entries MUST be submitted on or before Friday 30 May 2025.
6. Die kunswerke en foto’s self moet teen Maandag 4 Augustus 2025 by Hoërskool Harrismith besorg word.
The artwork and photos itself must be delivered to the convenor Harrismith High School by Monday 4 August 2025.
7. Groot groepsprojekte moet Vrydag 8 Augustus 2025 by die lokaal (Ou Huis – Harrismith Primêr) afgelaai word.
Large group projects must be delivered at the venue (Ou Huis – Harrismith Primary) by Friday 8 August 2025.
8. Skole (of deelnemers) moet kunswerke en foto’s teen die einde van die week by die sameroepster afhaal.
Schools (or participants) should collect artwork and photos from the convenor by the end of the week.
9. Die Komitee sal alles in sy vermoë doen om die artikels met sorg te hanteer, maar aanvaar nie aanspreeklikheid vir enige verlies of skade nie.
The Committee will treat all artwork with great care, but will not accept liability for any loss or damages.
10. Daar moet op oorspronklikheid klem gelê word. Moenie voorskriftelik optree nie – die kind se kreatiwiteit is hier van kardinale belang.
Emphasis is to be placed on initiative. Don’t be prescriptive – the child’s creativity is crucial.
11. Die onderwyser moet die kind bewus maak van verskeidenheid kleur, tekstuur, lyn, vorm, ens. wat hulle kan gebruik. Leerders moet ook eksperimenteer met unieke kunsstyle soos pointilisme, juxsta-plasing, ongewone oopgpunte, optiese illusies, kunstige collage ens.
The teacher must make the child aware of the variety of colour, texture, line, form etc. that can be used. Learners should experiment with unique art styles such as pointillism, juxtaposing, unusual viewpoints, optical illusions, artistic collage ect.
12. Die kunswerke moet netjies wees.
Artwork must be neat.
13. Elke deelemer mag een kunswerk en/of foto per tema inskryf.
- Dus mag voorskool tot Gr 7 ‘n maksimum van een kunswerk en/of een foto inskryf.
- Gr 8 – 9 mag ‘n maksimum van twee kunswerke en/of twee foto’s inskryf (een volgens tema en een eie keuse).
- Gr 10 – 12 mag ‘n maksimum van vier kunswerke en/of vier foto’s inskryf (een elk volgens die drie temas en een eie keuse).
Each participant may enter one artwork and/or photo per theme.
- So pre-school to Gr 7 may enter a maximum of one artwork and/or one photo.
- Gr 8 – 9 may enter a maximum of two artworks and/or two photos (one according to the theme and one own choice).
- Gr 10 – 12 may enter a maximum of four artworks and/or four photos (one each according to the three themes and one own choice).
14. Twee-dimensionele Kuns: Potlood, pastelle, olieverf, waterverf, houtskool, collage, ens. volgens voorgeskrewe temas en/of eie keuse.
Two-dimensional Art: Pencil, pastel, oil paint, water colour, charcoal, collage etc. according to prescribed themes and/or own choice.
15. Beeldhou: Enige medium soos papier, papierpap, seep, gips, draad, ens. volgens voorgeskrewe temas en/of eie keuse.
Sculpture: Any materials e.g. paper, paper mache, soap, plaster of paris, wire etc. according to prescribed themes and/or own choice.
16. Handwerk: Maak ‘n artikel. Enige medium, bv. naaldwerk, batik, loodglaswerk, kwiltwerk, mosaïek, ens. volgens voorgeskrewe temas en/of eie keuse.
Handwork: Make an article. Any medium, e.g. needlecraft, batick, stained glass, quilting, mosaic, etc. according to prescribed themes and/or own choice.
17. Pottebakkerswerk: Tema volgens graad en/of eie keuse.
Pottery: Theme according to grade and/or own choice.
18. Groepsprojek: Enige kombinasie van twee-dimensioneel, beeldhou, handwerk of pottebakkerswerk volgens voorgeskrewe temas en/of eie keuse.
Group Project: Any combination of two-dimensional, sculpture, hand work or pottery according to prescribed themes and/or own choice.
19. Volwasse Afdeling: Slegs vir volwasse deelnemers buite skoolverband. Deelnemers word beoordeel volgens medium en die standaard van hul kunswerk. Hul ouderdom word glad nie in aanmerking geneem nie. Werke kan in enige medium en volgens enige tema gemaak word.
Adult Section: Only for adult participants out of school. Participants will be judged according to the medium and the standard of their art work. The individual’s age will not be taken into consideration at all. Works can be done in any medium and according to any theme.
20. Fotografie: Die foto’s moet in A4 formaat in swart/wit of kleur gedruk word. Dit moet op ‘n swart agtergrond wat ongeveer 5 cm breër as die foto is gemonteer word.
Photography: The photos must be printed in A4 format in black/white or colour. It must be mounted on a black background 5 cm wider than the photograph.
