Sarie Landman is ʼn passievolle individu: ʼn Klein mensie met ʼn ontsaglike groot hart om deur kuns met die mense om haar en in die gemeenskap te kommunikeer.

Haar opleiding en lewenservaring word weergegee in haar werk as kunstenaar, sowel as kuns tutor. Kuns het ʼn positiewe impak op lewens: jonk en oud. Dit geld wanneer ons ander se werke inneem, of ons eie kreatiwiteit gebruik. Dit is met hierdie fokus wat sy haar kunswerke aanpak en kuns onderrig gee, om ʼn positiewe impak op haar gemeenskap te hê.

Sarie studeer aan Pro Arte Hoërskool (2001 – 2005) en ontvang praktiese mentorskap onder die Suid Afrikaanse kunstenaar Anna-Carien Goosen. Hier ondervind sy die praktiese kant en die uitdagings van kunstenaars in Suid Afrika en raak betrokke by die vervaardiging van Afro-delft (Drukwerk op Enamel-huisware). Sy ontvang ook mentorskap aangaande haar persoonlike kunswerke.

Sarie se ondervinding sluit in dekor vervaardiging by Zóé Academy Produksies en verskeie gemeentes in die Gauteng area, asook die organisering van kuns-uitstallings in die Centurion area.

Huidiglik is Sarie eienaar van ʼn kunsskool, Die Kuns Klas, in Pretoria waar onderrig in verskeie mediums (verf, klei ens.) en tegnieke (basies tot gevorderd) aangebied word vir alle ouderdomme.  Hier gebruik sy ook kuns as vorm van informele terapie en gee sy volwassenes die geleentheid om hul kuns talent te ontdek d.m.v. werkswinkels en klasse.

Sarie was die Harrismith Eisteddfod beoordelaar vir Kuns en Fotografie in 2017, sowel as die Centurion (Pretoria) Eisteddfod beoordelaar vir Kuns in 2018.

Volgens haar gaan kuns met kinders oor die proses van ontdekking, probleemoplossing en kommunikasie deur kuns – bowenal moet kuns pret wees!

Sarie is getroud en geseën met twee kinders.  Haar gunsteling medium is olieverf.

Sarie Landman is a passionate individual: a Small person with a big heart and a drive to reach people in her community through art.

Her training and life skills are shown in her work as artist and art tutor. Art has a positive impact on lives, young and old, whether we are looking at someone else’s creation, or using our own creativity. With this focus, Sarie approaches her creations and her classes: to have a positive impact on her community.

Sarie studied at Pro Arte High School (2001 – 2005) and received practical mentoring from the South African artist Anna-Carien Goosen. Here she experienced the practical side and the challenges of artists in South Africa and became involved in production of Afro-Delft (printing on enamel house ware). She also received mentoring regarding her original art pieces.

Sarie’s experiences include decor creation at Zóé Academy Productions and various congregations in Gauteng area, as well as organizing art exhibitions in the Centurion area.

Currently, Sarie is the owner of an art school, Die Kuns Klas, in Pretoria which offers training in various mediums (paint, clay etc.) and techniques (basic to advance).  Here she also uses art as informal therapy and gives adults scope to discover and master their art talent through workshops and classes.

Sarie was adjudicator for Art and Photography at the Harrismith Eisteddfod in 2017, as well as Art at the Centurion (Pretoria) Eisteddfod in 2018.

According to Sarie, art with children is about the process of discovery, problem solving and communication through art – above all, art must be fun!

Sarie is married and blessed with two children.  Her favourite medium is oil painting.
